The World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) has approved Discraft as the WFDF Official Disc Supplier and Partner for 2019-2022. Discraft Inc., based in Michigan, USA, will receive the exclusive rights to produce “Official WFDF Ultimate Discs” for sale through merchandise channels and will be the supplier of the “Official Game Discs” during all WFDF Ultimate Championship events during this four-year period. It will also include sponsorship of the WFDF World Team Disc Golf and Freestyle Championships. In return, this partnership will provide benefits to both WFDF and its sanctioned event organizers. For events, Discraft will provide discounted rates on the purchase of discs for event sales and a number of official game discs. It will also provide discs and sponsorship funding to support WFDF’s development programs and general activities.

“We are really excited about the renewal of this long-standing and important relationship with Discraft,” stated Robert “Nob” Rauch, WFDF President. “We feel that this partnership provides benefits to both WFDF and event organizers, and we are excited by the prospects for receiving additional support for our development program general activities in 2019 to 2022. We had received four other strong bids for the sponsorship role and appreciate the increased quality disc production capabilities that have emerged in the last few years.”

“Discraft, the world leader in disc sports, is happy to partner with WFDF through 2022,” said Pad Timmons, Chief Operating officer and Ultimate Director of Discraft. “Working with WFDF for the past three decades, we have watched them grow and become a pivotalpart of the world Ultimate scene. The tournaments they have run are top notch, thanks to the coordination of the WFDF staff and the tournament partners/directors that they have picked from all over the world.”

Discraft was selected after WFDF invited all of the companies that currently manufacture approved championship-level 175 gram Ultimate discs to be involved in a tender process.

Discraft’s new four-year deal comes after recent good news for the company, including recently adding accomplished professional disc golfer, Paul McBeth, to its team and adding a licensing arrangement with Disney Star Wars tm.

Earlier this year, WFDF established a new Approved Disc Policy that will go into effect beginning in January 2019.
