WFDF’s Board of Directors and Ultimate Committee are seeking bids from potential host organizers for the WFDF 2016 World Ultimate & Guts Championships (WUGC).
The WUGC is the premier world championship event for the flying disc disciplines of Ultimate and Guts. The event is held every four years and is comprised of national teams competing in Ultimate in the Open, Women’s, Mixed, Open Masters, Women’s Masters divisions, and in Guts. The event was first held in 1983 in Gothenburg Sweden and was most recently held in 2012 Sakai, Japan.
Given various national team scheduling conflicts, the preferred date range should be July 10-August 7, 2016, although a potential bidder can approach us if they need flexibility. The deadline for the submission of complete bids is Tuesday, October 14, 2014. However, potential bidders should provide an expression of interest in bidding (no details required) by no later than Tuesday, July 29, 2014. The Bid Guidelines and the bid budget template can be accessed under this link: http://wfdf.sport/events/event-hosting. It is anticipated that WFDF will announce the host details by the middle of January, 2015.
If you have any questions about this event or the process of bidding, or to receive an Expression of Interest form, please contact Karina Woldt, WFDF Event Manager, at kar[email protected] , to receive the Expression of Interest form.
