WFDF is pleased to announce the hosts and event dates of two 2015 key events. The WFDF 2015 World Under 23 Ultimate Championships (WU23) will be held in the city of London, United Kingdom, while the WFDF 2015 PanAmerican Ultimate Championships (PAUC) will be staged in Mexico.
The WU23 will be held from 12 to 18 July 2015 and be hosted by UK Ultimate acting as the Tournament Organizing Committee (TOC). Responsible for the organization will be UKU CEO Simon Hill, who formerly served as WFDF’s Ultimate Committee chair. The event will be staged at the University College London (UCL) Sports Ground, in St Albans just north of London. The last WU23 was held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, which hosted 36 teams from 17 nations in 3 divisions: Open, Women’s, and Mixed. Over 900 athletes, coaches, and managers had visited Toronto for the Championships. These three divisions will be competing in London in 2015 again.
The PAUC 2015 will be staged from 18 to 21 November 2015 at the “El Rey Polo Country Club” located in the village of Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo in Mexico, near Cancun. The successful bid came from Ultimate Mexico representing the Ultimate community in Mexico and acting as TOC for PAUC under the leadership of Fabia Tamayo (Quintana Roo Flying Disc Association) and Rolando Garcia (Ultimate Mexico). The last PAUC was held in 2011 in the city of Medellin, Colombia.
“WFDF is very pleased to be able to offer two great event locations in the United Kingdom and Mexico,” commented WFDF President Robert “Nob” Rauch. “We particularly want to thank Si Hill and his team for agreeing to work closely with WFDF as we develop a new event management model. And, with PAUC in Mexico, we are excited about the enthusiasm of the TOC to further develop Ultimate in the Americas, with this being the first event hosted together with the PanAmerican Flying Disc Federation.”
