The World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) is pleased to announce that the WFDF 2017 All Africa Ultimate Club Championships (AAUCC 2017) will be held in Nairobi, Kenya from Friday 2nd June to Sunday 4th June 2017 at the Kenya Science Campus of the University of Nairobi, with the championship games to be played at the Nyayo Stadium. AAUCC will contest the mixed division and expects 10-12 teams from around the Continent to participate.

“Nairobi Ultimate Club is one of the oldest clubs in the East African region and has been growing with a steady membership over the past 10 years,” stated WFDF President Robert “Nob” Rauch. “The inaugural WFDF 2015 AAUCC held in Kampala, Uganda saw nearly 150 athletes from Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda participate. That tournament was followed by a WFDF development coaching and skills clinic which hosted 100 people from six African countries, and we are looking at potentially hosting a similar clinic again. We are really pleased with the way that the sport of Ultimate in Africa is growing.”

Event Director and head of the TOC Aram DiGennaro commented that “We are delighted and honoured to host the second-ever All African Ultimate Club Championships in Nairobi, Kenya. Our club is integrating many new, younger players with the intention of heightening local visibility of Ultimate. AAUCC will be a great leap forward in cementing the sport as a significant part of athletic life in young Nairobi–a world sport in a world city.”
