The World Flying Disc Federation (“WFDF”) is pleased to announce that it has launched its fourth edition of the Global Disc Sports Community survey. The 2023 survey is now available and will be open for the entire Flying Disc community through Sunday, the 9th of April 2023. In order to encourage as much participation as possible, this year’s survey is on the SurveyHero platform where it is available in 11 languages – English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese (traditional), Japanese, Turkish and Arabic –and should take less than 10 minutes to complete. The survey can be found at https://surveyhero.com/c/9zhnkcna.

“This year’s survey was designed to gather input from athletes, coaches, administrators, tournament directors, and anyone else involved with disc sports from around the globe, in order to give the WFDF board and Congress input on the state of disc sports post-COVID19,” stated WFDF President Robert “Nob” Rauch. “It is in a much more simplified and shorter format than previously to make it more easily accessible on mobile devices, in multiple languages, and quicker for participants to complete, in order to encourage as many voices to be heard.”

WFDF had first conducted surveys of its Member Federations separate from the Census in 2011-2013. The 2014 and 2016 surveys were the first and second attempt to get input directly from the athletes and other members of the community. The 2019 edition had a stronger focus on questions like the Spirit of the Game and gender balance as well as athletes’ safety and protection following relevant changes in the policies of the Olympic Movement.

“With the 2023 survey we want to get a snapshot of the changes which were caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic and gather demographic information about all of the disc sports community that had so tremendously grown until the pandemic,” Rauch continued. “We need to find out how the pandemic has influenced the growth of our sport and opinions of those practicing it. This will serve to support our promotional efforts to further the sport, and to get input on a variety of topics that are currently being discussed. We thank everyone who will participate in advance.”
