WFDF is pleased to announce that the WFDF 2024 World Team Disc Golf Championship (WTDGC) will be staged in Mundaring, Perth Western Australia from Wednesday 6th November through Saturday 9th November, 2024. The Local Organising Committee (LOC) is the Mundaring Sporting Club, Disc Golf department with leadership from highly experienced Disc Golfers Ken and Sue Summers.

Mundaring Disc Golf Sports venue has previously hosted the 2015 and 2017 Australian leg of the Disc Golf World Tour Event — “the Aussie Open” — with their famous Championship level 18-basket course meandering through the Perth Hills only a 35 minute drive east of central Perth. There is a second 18-basket course in the planning stage due to be finished in later 2023 well in time for WTDGC, and both courses will be open for practice for WTDGC at least 3 days prior.

“We are thrilled to bring the WFDF World Team Disc Golf Championship “down under” to sunny Australia,” stated Robert “Nob” Rauch, WFDF President. “With ongoing support and encouragement from the Professional Disc Golf Association, we look forward to furthering our cooperation to continue to grow the sport of disc golf worldwide. This will be a perfect opportunity to prepare teams for the re-entry of Disc Golf onto the competition program of The World Games 2025 in Chengdu!”

WFDF extends a call for bids to all member National Federations and their Disc Golf Association’s for teams to represent their country. The official event bulletin with detailed information as well as Pre-registrations to nominate teams will be available in the coming month.

WFDF Disc Golf Charlie Mead added “The Tournament Directors Ken and Sue Summers have put a lot of planning into the bid for WTDGC, combining both their experience and knowledge gained by attending prior WFDF World Championship events. All of us in the community have felt their passion for building Disc Golf popularity through their work on various Disc Golf Committees, and we are excited to see what Australia has to offer us in 2024. There will also be an A-Tier event in Perth the week before the event and the Australian Disc Golf Championships will be the week after near Sydney. We see this as a chance to have a great Disc Golf holiday.”

“We are very excited and honored to host the event at Mundaring Sporting Club – Disc Golf Section,” commented President Ken Summers. “We are ready to welcome the world to our beautiful Club.”

WTDGC is WFDF’s premier disc golf event and is an opportunity for teams of up to 12 players to showcase their best Disc Golf Skills on a world stage during match play for teams and individuals.

WTDGC 2024 will be the fifth edition of WFDF’s biannual Team Disc Golf World Championship, with the inaugural event being hosted in Vancouver, Canada in 2016 with 6 countries taking part, and the latest event in Croatia last year growing to an amazing 25 national team event. With the world title going to four different countries over the past four events (USA/2016, CAN/2017, FIN/2019 and EST/2022), the title for 2024’s World Team Disc Golf Champion is an open opportunity for every country to claim gold!
