The World Flying Disc Federation is pleased to announce our initial 2025 Calendar of Events. The following events have been scheduled after the completion of a competitive bid process. Hosts were selected based on a variety of requirements including past experience running Flying Disc events, the overall cost to teams and athletes, presence of suitable facilities, and the competition venue. All bids were recognized and endorsed by the National Flying Disc Federation of the country where the venue is located.

“It’s a great honor that Logroño will be the first city in Spain to host a WFDF sanctioned Ultimate Frisbee World Championship,” commented WU24 Tournament Director Massimiliano Vitali. “We are thrilled for attendees to experience the charm and beauty of Logroño, its excellent infrastructure, and the welcoming spirit of our region, La Rioja.”
“We are excited to announce the return of PAUC to the Dominican Republic,” stated PAUC Tournament Director Juan Acosta. “Following 2023, we’ve been fortunate to witness significant growth of the sport of Ultimate within the community. We are eager to further support this progress by hosting another major WFDF event.”
WBUC Tournament Director Pedro Vargas commented that “The Clube de Praticantes Ultimate Portimão is excited to see the return of the most prestigious Beach Ultimate Championship to Portugal. A lot of the sport of Beach Ultimate got its roots in Portugal and it seems fitting that, 21 years after the first World Beach Ultimate Championships, the WBUC is coming back home. Praia da Rocha is the ideal beach venue for the sport at the highest level and we have the capacity to run an extremely well-organized and highly successful tournament that will showcase Beach Ultimate at its best.”
The 2025 WFDF Event Calendar consists of both World Championships and Continental events and brings back to Sweden the World Overall Flying Disc Championships, which includes events in Accuracy, Discathon, Distance, Disc Golf, Double Disc Court, Freestyle, and Self-Caught Flight.
Details for additional 2025 WFDF sanctioned events including the World Wheelchair Ultimate Championships (WWUC), All African Ultimate Championships (AAUC), and Virtual Sport World Team Disc Golf Championship (VSWTDGC) are still being finalized and will be announced soon.
Additionally, with WFDF support, Flying Disc will be appearing in the 12th edition of The World Games (TWG). Held in Chengdu, China from 5-17 Aug 2025, TWG will include both Ultimate and Disc Golf as medal sports.
