About the Athletes’ Commission
The WFDF Athletes’ Commission was established in 2012 to create an avenue for athlete advice, feedback, and assistance on matters of relevance to all Flying Disc Disciplines and athletes. Some of the roles and responsibilities of the WFDF Athletes’ Commission are to:
- Promote high standards of sportspersonship and ethical performance
- Provide reports and recommendations to the board on issues of relevance to athletes
- Examine the WFDF business plan and give feedback to the Board on areas that require input from athletes
- Bring the athletes’ point of view to the Medical and Anti-Doping Committee
- Represent athletes competing at WFDF Championships to promote feedback on the athletes’ experiences
“WFDF relies on the Athletes’ Commission to keep our organization in touch with the perspectives of our athletes,” shared WFDF President Robert “Nob” Rauch. “Four new members have recently been elected by the Ultimate community, and we look forward to adding these additional members to provide the views of other Flying Disc disciplines including Disc Golf, a fast growing part of the frisbee community.”
