The WFDF Board of Directors is pleased to announce the following individuals have been appointed to positions on the Athletes’ Commission.
For a four-year term representing Disc Golf:
Mark Oxer (NED-CAN)
Ralf Rogov (EST)
For a four-year term representing Guts:
Josh Tews (USA)
For a two-year term representing Freestyle:
Maria Fernanda Meza Bonilla (COL)
Elections, planned to be held during the upcoming World Team Disc Golf Championship in Perth, Australia, were made unnecessary due to the low number of applications received. An additional Disc Golf representative will be selected during the Championship and appointed to the Commission by the board.
“As a coach and athlete, I’ve always believed in the power of sport to inspire, connect, and empower individuals. This position allows me to advocate for athletes, ensuring their voices are heard and that their experiences help shape the future of our sport,” shared Oxer. “As a member of the Athletes’ Commission, my goal is to create an environment where athletes are supported to reach their fullest potential, both on and off the course. I hope to contribute to fostering an inclusive, ethical, and athlete-focused culture within WFDF. By providing feedback on key issues and promoting high standards of sportsmanship, I aim to ensure that athletes are equipped not only to compete at the highest levels but also to thrive personally and professionally through their involvement in disc sports.”
“I want to bring more people to know what WFDF and their sports are all about,” shared Rogov. “At least in our country, it is a bit unnoticed. This position is very new to me, but also very interesting. I like such challenges and I am ready for it.”
“It’s an honor to be appointed to the WFDF Athletes’ Commission.” said Josh Tews. “I look forward to representing Guts in a positive light. I hope to bring more recognition to Guts and interact with representatives from other disciplines.”
“Being appointed to the Athletes’ Commission is a great honor, allowing me to represent my fellow athletes and help shape the future of Freestyle,” said Meza Bonilla. “I look forward to supporting athletes, developing programs, strengthening our community, and promoting Freestyle to enhance the sport, and encourage international participation.”
“We are excited to add these representatives for Flying Disc disciplines not currently represented on the Athletes’ Commission,” said WFDF President Robert “Nob” Rauch. “We look forward to the additional perspectives and insights they will bring to the Commission’s important work within WFDF.”
