WFDF Publishes 2025–2028 Ultimate Rules

Colorado Springs, USA – The World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) is pleased to announce the release of updated Ultimate Rules and their Appendices for 2025–2028. Following extensive engagement with the global Ultimate community, led by the WFDF Rules Sub-Committee, the revised Rules were approved by the Board of Directors and will take effect on January 1, 2025.

This latest update introduces key adjustments designed to enhance clarity, streamline the flow of play, ensure fairer outcomes, and further align with the USA Ultimate rule set. A primary focus of these revisions is to reinforce the principles of self-officiating, which remain central to the spirit of Ultimate.

“As Ultimate continues to grow, clear and objective Rules are essential for consistent play,” said Rueben Berg, Chair of the Rules Sub-Committee. “We encourage the community to review, understand, and implement these updates, and to take advantage of the available resources to deepen both their knowledge and appreciation of the discipline.”

“These updated Rules highlight the ongoing evolution of Ultimate,” said Robert “Nob” Rauch, President of WFDF. “We believe these refinements will enrich the playing experience and strengthen the global Ultimate community. I encourage everyone to stay engaged with the new Rules and uphold our shared commitment to the spirit of fair play.”

WFDF extends its gratitude to the worldwide community of athletes, coaches, and stakeholders who contributed their expertise to shape this revision. Their collaborative efforts ensure that these Rules continue to support players of all levels and reflect the values of the sport.

We invite all members of the Ultimate community to delve into these materials for a clear understanding of the rule changes:
