Top Nations Advance to WFDF Virtual Sport World Team Disc Golf Championship Finals, Set for 21-22 June.

18 June 2025

France, Italy, and the United States to compete for the world title in Round 3 of the global mixed-gender virtual disc golf competition.

The World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) is proud to announce that the Championship Finals (Round 3) of the WFDF Virtual Sport World Team Disc Golf Championships (VSWTDGC) will take place on 21–22 June, 2025. Following two competitive qualifying rounds, three national teams—France, Italy, and the United States—have earned their spots in the final round and will now compete for the world title.

The VSWTDGC is a mixed-gender, international competition conducted through WFDF’s virtual sport format. Each national team is composed of two players—one male and one female—whose individual scores are combined to determine national standings. This innovative format enables global participation while promoting gender equity and competition in disc golf.

The opening round of the tournament, originally announced with an extended deadline to accommodate greater participation (read more here), served as the national qualification stage and drew participation from more than 2,200 players from 19 countries. The top-performing male and female players from each country advanced to Round 2, where national pairs competed in placement games from 9–17 June. The results of those matchups determined the three finalists now preparing to compete in Round 3.

“With France, Italy, and the United States leading the field, we’re excited to see how this Championship Finals weekend unfolds,” said WFDF President Robert “Nob” Rauch.

The 2025 VSWTDGC is hosted on Disc Golf Valley (DGV), a leading mobile disc golf simulation developed and published by Spinoff Games. With over 2 million downloads, DGV has become a cornerstone of the digital disc golf community. Spinoff Games is dedicated to creating high-quality, accessible experiences for players of all skill levels, and aims to be the top disc golf game studio driving the sport forward in the gaming world.
