The World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) is thrilled to announce a comprehensive four-year partnership with Ultiworld that will extend through the 2028 competitive cycle. This landmark agreement positions Ultiworld as the primary live broadcast partner for WFDF global events, including the World Ultimate Championships, World Ultimate Club Championships, World Under-24 Ultimate Championships, World Junior Ultimate Championships, World Beach Ultimate Championships, and more.
“Ultiworld has proven to be at the top of the game in covering and distributing our world and continental championship events,” said WFDF President Robert “Nob” Rauch. “We look forward to expanding our relationship to include more disciplines of flying disc sports and more year-round coverage.”
“We’ve been steadily building our relationship with WFDF over the past decade, and this agreement represents a natural evolution of that partnership,” said Charlie Eisenhood, Ultiworld’s founder and CEO. “We’re excited to bring WFDF’s premier global events to fans with the depth and quality of coverage that these tournaments deserve.”
The partnership includes exclusive live broadcast rights with Ultiworld committing to covering all production costs and paying a rights fee to WFDF. As in previous years, the agreement allows for WFDF to market its competitions directly to the People’s Republic of China, plus include The Olympic Channel and ANOC.tv platform (Association of National Olympic Committee) for certain events.
“This exclusive four-year production contract underscores the close partnership between Ultiworld and WFDF,” said WFDF Managing Director of Broadcasting Tim Rockwood. “Our two organizations have developed the ‘athletes play and viewers pay’ concept over several years, saving elite ultimate athletes around the world hundreds of thousands of dollars by not using player or team fees to underwrite coverage and distribution costs.”
The agreement comes at a time of growth for both organizations. Ultiworld continues to add subscribers around the world while WFDF continues to expand its membership across new countries and regions and is set for record-breaking participation at upcoming events, including the U24 World Championships later this month in Spain. WFDF had run an open RFP process with four interested parties and selected Ultiworld based on its proposed financial terms, scope of service, and track record.
“What excites me most is the opportunity to tell the international stories that deserve more attention,” Eisenhood said. “From emerging ultimate powerhouses to the incredible personalities driving the sport forward, we’re committed to showcasing the full spectrum of what makes this community special.”
The partnership kicks off with coverage of the 2025 World Under-24 Ultimate Championships starting in just over a week. There will be more video coverage than ever before, with 97 games set for the broadcast schedule as part of the debut of Field Pass at a WFDF event. In addition to annual and event subscription options, Ultiworld will also be streaming one free game per day over the event.
