The World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) is pleased to announce the launch of the “Flying Disc Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Hub,” a new initiative dedicated to fostering a more diverse, equitable and inclusive environment across all Flying Disc sports. This centralized Hub will serve as a vital resource for showcasing successful case studies, sharing best practices, encouraging community dialogue, and distributing valuable knowledge related to DEI efforts within the sport.
The DEI Hub is a legacy of the “Equity in Disc Sports” website, a project supported by the WFDF Development Support Program in 2021, led by the efforts of the Asia-Oceania Flying Disc Federation’s EDI Committee.
WFDF President, Robert “Nob” Rauch, expressed his enthusiasm for the launch, stating, “The Flying Disc DEI Hub represents our continued step in our commitment to ensuring that Flying Disc sports are open and accessible to everyone. By creating a central space for DEI resources, we can highlight leading examples and motivate our community to take meaningful action. Together, we have a real opportunity to lead by example and build a sport where everyone is included and can thrive, and we are pleased to announce this initiative on World Inclusion Day.”
The DEI Hub aims to inspire and empower all stakeholders, from individual players and coaches to event organizers, national federations, and clubs, to adopt and implement practices that promote fairness, accessibility, and belonging for everyone. The DEI Hub, located on WFDF Academy, will allow for contributions from the global Flying Disc community, ensuring it remains a continually updated resource with the most recent impactful initiatives.
WFDF invites all stakeholders in the Flying Disc sports community to engage with and contribute to the DEI Hub.
