The WFDF 2025 Pan American Ultimate Championships (PAUC) concluded this Saturday after six days of elite competition, vibrant community spirit, and unforgettable moments both on and off the field. Hosted in the spectacular setting of Cap Cana, Dominican Republic, the tournament brought together 59 teams from 10 countries, competing across five divisions and involving more than 1,200 participants.
A spirited crowd, featuring supporters from every division, a dedicated volunteer team, and proud local families, lined the sidelines as Blue Devils, representing the Dominican Republic, secured the gold medal in the Open Division with a decisive 15–10 victory over Ottawa Phoenix (CAN). The hosts successfully defended their 2023 title, completing a flawless 8–0 run, including a tense semifinal settled on a universe point that nearly shifted the outcome. In the Women’s Division, Macana (COL) earned a landmark win over reigning champions Revolution (COL). Founded just three years ago, Macana made an impressive international debut with a talent-packed roster. In the remaining divisions, teams from the USA asserted their dominance, sweeping all three titles. Mile High Trash in Mixed, Surly in Master Open, and Brunch Club in Master Mixed.
WFDF congratulates all medal-winning teams and proudly acknowledges the Spirit of the Game Award recipients: ClubM – Manic (CAN) in the Open Division, Spanglish (VEN) in the Women’s Division, Kalagend (COL) in the Mixed Division, Makawua (COL) in the Master Open Division and Halal (COL) in the Master Mixed Division.

“More than 1,200 players and 59 teams from 10 countries successfully competed in this year’s PAUC. This event builds on the successes of past Pan American Championships and showcases the growing viability of our continental championships,” stated WFDF President Robert “Nob” Rauch. “We want to extend our sincerest thanks to the Local Organising Committee, led by Juan Acosta and Sophia Paredes, and supporting partner CUT Camp. With their tireless efforts, PAUC 2025 became a truly sports paradise.” Tournament Directors Acosta and Paredes remarked, “We feel incredibly fortunate to have hosted this event and to have witnessed the community, energy, and excellence each of the participants brought to Cap Cana.”
The conclusion of PAUC caps off a landmark year for WFDF, which also included continental championships in Africa and Asia-Oceania, the World Under-24 Ultimate Championships in Spain, the World Overall Championships in Sweden, and the World Beach Ultimate Championships in Portugal. Flying Disc was also showcased at The World Games 2025 in Chengdu, and will be a demonstration sport with both Ultimate and Disc Golf in the Southeast Asia Games in Bangkok later this month, further reinforcing the sport’s growing global presence and momentum.
