WFDF Welcomes North Macedonia and Pakistan, Expanding Global Membership to 124 National Federations

The World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) is proud to announce the formal admission of two new National Federations following a recent electronic vote by its Congress. The Macedonian Flying Disc Sports Federation (MFDSF), representing North Macedonia (MKD), and the Pakistan Flying Disc Federation (PFDF), representing Pakistan (PAK), have been officially welcomed as the 123rd and 124th WFDF members, respectively.

This expansion demonstrates WFDF’s commitment to its Strategic Plan, which focuses on the efficient and proactive growth of Flying Disc sports and their equitable impact across the global community.

“Welcoming North Macedonia and Pakistan marks a significant step forward in our mission to expand Flying Disc sports worldwide, bringing our total number of Member National Federations to 124,” said WFDF President Robert “Nob” Rauch. “Their dedication to formalizing governance and proactively launching development programs, particularly focused on youth growth in both countries, shows the incredible, equitable momentum our sport is building. We look forward to supporting both National Federations as they continue their journey to achieve National Olympic Committee recognition and become active members of the WFDF community.”

The Macedonian Flying Disc Sports Federation (MFDSF) was established to organize and grow the sport in North Macedonia. Ultimate was the first Flying Disc sport played in the country, with games and training organized in Skopje since 2016. The community has also shown interest in Disc Golf. The MFDSF is led by President Adi Kolevska.

“Official recognition by WFDF is a huge moment for our community,” said Adi Kolevska, President of the Macedonian Flying Disc Sports Federation. “Our players have shown great dedication and consistency in growing Flying Disc sports, and we have a strong understanding of the Spirit of the Game. Becoming the 123rd member gives us the formal structure and guidance we need to grow all disciplines in North Macedonia and secure important local recognition.”

The Pakistan Flying Disc Federation (PFDF) has made strong progress in promoting Ultimate Frisbee nationwide since its foundational roots in the early 2000s. The federation has worked to establish teams across provinces, organize national championships, and launch dedicated youth and women’s development programs. The PFDF is led by President Azhar Khan Burki.

Azhar Khan Burki, President of the Pakistan Flying Disc Federation, commented on the new affiliation: “We are extremely proud to join the WFDF family. This affiliation validates the hard work we’ve put into establishing a structured national body and focusing on the growth of Ultimate Frisbee, especially with our youth and women’s initiatives. With the support of WFDF, we can continue to secure further recognition and accelerate the development of Flying Disc sports across Pakistan.”
