The World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) is proud to announce it has joined the International Partnership Against Corruption in Sport (IPACS) as a Partner. This commitment reinforces WFDF’s dedication to upholding the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and good governance across the organization and all its Flying Disc disciplines.
IPACS is a collaborative platform led by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and involves international sports organizations, governments, and intergovernmental bodies like the OECD and the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). Its primary focus is to fight corruption in sport through several key working groups dedicated to:
- Improving compliance with good governance principles.
- Reducing corruption risks in procurement processes.
- Ensuring integrity in the selection of hosts for major sporting events.
- Developing effective whistleblowing mechanisms.
- Addressing the manipulation of competitions, such as match-fixing.
WFDF President Robert “Nob” Rauch stated, “The Spirit of the Game is the foundation of our sport and requires absolute integrity. Joining IPACS is a helpful and proactive measure to protect these values on a global stage. As a mid-sized organization within the Olympic Movement, this partnership allows us to efficiently access world-class expertise and practical tools developed by the world’s leading sports and government agencies, and affirms our commitment to integrity, as previously evidenced by our leading results in the recent ARISF Good Governance Survey.”
“This agreement is directly aligned with our Strategic Plan, which commits to strengthening our governance and supporting our Member Federations in an equitable way,” added WFDF Director of Membership Services and Development. “By using IPACS resources, we can more effectively fulfill our goal of providing templates for our National Federations to adopt critical policies and strengthen our operational framework, ensuring that Flying Disc sports continue to grow with complete trust and transparency.”
As a partner, WFDF will actively contribute to IPACS’s work and immediately begin using the resources and standards to strengthen its operations in areas such as competition integrity and governance compliance.
