The All Africa Flying Disc Federation (AAFDF) proudly announces the successful conclusion of the Frisbee East Africa Sand Tournament (FEAST) XVI Tournament, held over the Easter weekend, April 4–5, 2026 at Kongo Beach, Diani/Mombasa, Kenya, marking another milestone in African Flying Disc competition. The event brought together 11 teams and 200 athletes from Kenya, South Africa, and Tanzania, showcasing the growth of Ultimate and the values of teamwork, inclusivity, and fair play over two days of 5×5 mixed competition on the beach.
In the all-Kenya medal sweep, Black Fish Ultimate of Kisumu secured the gold medal in a thrilling final over the Tropical Rangers of Kaimosi, repeating as champion, while the Kemri Sharks of Nairobi took bronze following a spirited third-place playoff.
Beyond competition, FEAST XVI highlighted the Spirit of the Game, with teams embodying the values that define Ultimate – respect, fairness, and joy of play, with Kaalvoet Kaos of South Africa topping the spirit rankings. Individual excellence was also recognised. Natalie Kibor of Tropical Rangers was awarded Most Spirited Female Player, while Tevine Apolo of Black Fish Ultimate was named Most Spirited Male Player.
In his opening remarks, AAFDF President Ronny Ochoro reaffirmed AAFDF’s commitment to supporting the development of flying disc sports across the continent: “With the backing of the World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF), we assure continued support for the expansion of Ultimate, and other disc sports as we build platforms for African athletes to shine on the global stage.”
“It’s great to see such talent, spirit, and enthusiasm on and off the ultimate pitch in East Africa for the 16th year in a row,” said WFDF President Robert “Nob” Rauch. “There are many challenges to developing Flying Disc in Africa, including distance and more limited resources, and these athletes and organizers like the LOC led by Peter Gitau are showing how they can be overcome.”
AAFDF extends gratitude to all athletes, volunteers, and partners who made FEAST XVI a success. This tournament marks another milestone in African Ultimate’s journey, paving the way for greater continental and global participation.
