The World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) continues to build on its commitment to inclusive and accessible sport following its recognition with the INTERACT+ Diamond Sport for All Certification Level in 2025, the highest level awarded and a milestone that underscored its leadership in Sport for All.
This momentum continues with the Frisbee Festival München 2026, which will take place on 1 & 2 August 2026 in Munich, Germany, being recognised with the TAFISA Sport for All Event Label.
This recognition by TAFISA, The Association For International Sport for All, means being endorsed by the leading global organisation raising awareness about the benefits of Sport for All physical activity. It also shows that the event aligns with TAFISA’s mission to make physical activity available to all people, regardless of age, gender, ability, or background.
The Frisbee Festival München 2026 will take place as a multi-day festival event bringing together athletes, teams, officials, and guests from around the world. As part of the festival’s programme, the FPA & WFDF 2026 World Freestyle Flying Disc Championships will be held from 29 July to 2 August 2026, featuring four days of competition across Open Pairs, Women’s Pairs, Mixed Pairs, and Open Coop divisions.
The Freestyle World Championships are now unified into a single event, jointly sanctioned by FPA and WFDF, preserving the legacy and competitive focus of FPA Worlds while fully integrating freestyle into the global WFDF framework. Hosted at the Sportschule Oberhaching, the event will also include workshops, demonstrations, and activities designed to introduce Flying Disc sports to new audiences, creating an open and welcoming environment that reflects the principles of Sport for All.
“Flying Disc is a fun and accessible sport for people of all ages and walks of life,” said WFDF President, Robert “Nob” Rauch. “There are a variety of games that can be played with a frisbee, some of which are physically demanding, others of which are purely recreational. The festival should be a fun event for the entire family, introducing the joy of Flying Disc sports to a new generation while also showcasing the best freestyle competitors in the world!”
“We are honoured that TAFISA has recognised the Frisbee Festival München with their ‘Sport For All’ Event Label” said Daniel Weinbuch, Tournament Director and Event Organiser. “This recognition highlights that Flying Disc is more than just a competitive sport; it is a powerful tool for community-building and inclusion. By combining exciting competitions – headlined by the Freestyle World Championships – with accessible workshops for all, we are demonstrating that sustainable, inclusive sporting events are the future. This recognition is a testament to the hard work of our volunteers and the vibrant, welcoming culture of the international frisbee community.”
TAFISA plays an important role in supporting organisations and events that promote engagement in sport around the world. This recognition builds on WFDF’s continued efforts to expand involvement and support the development of Flying Disc sports globally.
WFDF looks forward to delivering the FPA & WFDF 2026 World Freestyle Flying Disc Championships and continuing its work to promote Flying Disc sports worldwide.
