The interactive event-based initiative in Limerick empowered athletes to make safe choices and protect the community’s Spirit of the Game.

At the WFDF 2026 World Ultimate Club Championships (WUCC) in Limerick, Ireland, the World Flying Disc Federation partnered with Sport Ireland to host an interactive anti-doping education booth. Hosted on August 15, 2026, the booth brought engaging clean sport education directly to the global Flying Disc community.

Driving Clean Sport Education

Throughout the Championships, athletes and support personnel had the opportunity to visit the education booth. Sport Ireland Anti-Doping Education Executive Carrie O’Keeffe collaborated with WFDF to provide practical, relevant clean sport information. To create lasting visibility in a way that resonates with Flying Disc culture, the team distributed custom, co-branded circular stickers featuring a clean sport message for athletes to put on their water bottles and notebooks.

Key highlights include:

• Extensive Reach: The outreach efforts targeted approximately 3,200 athletes across 130 competing teams.
• Interactive Learning: The booth provided a space for athletes to ask questions about strict liability, the Prohibited List, and checking permitted medications.
• Cultural Alignment: Positive messaging focused on “playing true” seamlessly integrated with the Flying Disc community’s core value of Spirit of the Game, which places the responsibility for fair play on every player.

The response from the athletes in Limerick was overwhelmingly positive, demonstrating a strong willingness to learn and engage with anti-doping educators.
