Discipline showcased among traditional and emerging sports at European Union funded festival.
The World Flying Disc Federation happily celebrates that Disc Golf was a featured sport at the 3rd TAFISA European Sport for All Games, which took place in Limerick, Ireland, from August 7 to August 10, 2026, highlighting the recreational aspects and benefits of Flying Disc Sports to participants and organizations across the continent.
“We are proud to see Disc Golf featured at the TAFISA European Sport for All Games,” said Robert “Nob” Rauch, President at WFDF. “This involvement embodies our vision to promote the ‘frisbee lifestyle’ and promote inclusion, participation and diversity through different target groups.”
Capitalizing on the discipline’s growing popularity in Europe and across Ireland, the All Ireland Disc Golf Association of Irish Flying Disc Association (IFDA) hosted interactive activities at the People’s Park on Saturday, August 8th. Participants of all ages and abilities were encouraged to learn and practice their Disc Golf throws, experience completing a hole, and discover the community spirit of Disc Golf.
Hosted by the Limerick Sports Partnership in collaboration with TAFISA and supported by the European Union, the four-day festival brought almost 50 traditional and emerging sports to locations across the city of Limerick.
“With participation in Disc Golf in these Games and the WFDF 2026 World Ultimate Club Championships just one week later, Limerick was truly the epicenter of Flying Disc Sports in August,” added Rauch. “We are now shifting our disc golf focus to Vilnius, Lithuania, where we will be hosting the 32 country WFDF 2026 World Team Disc Golf Championships, in association with the professional Disc Golf Championships, 8-12 September.
Participation in sport-for-all games seamlessly aligns with WFDF’s mission to support the inclusive growth of all Flying Disc Sports and the Spirit of the Game worldwide. Building on this tremendous momentum, these events are set to leave a lasting sport development legacy for Flying Disc sports in the city of Limerick and across the region.
