Day 6 of the WFDF 2026 World Ultimate Club Championships saw the championship field narrow to four teams in each division, with quarterfinal action delivering comebacks, familiar rivalries and universe-point drama across Limerick.

The Mixed Division opened the day in challenging upwind-downwind conditions. USA’s Hybrid recovered after Germany’s Tiefseetaucher took half to eventually win 15–11, while fellow USA side XIST also had to battle back after Germany’s Zamperl led 8–5 at the break. USA’s Shame. came through a close contest against Canada’s Odyssée, while Austria’s Mosquitos Klosterneuburg survived a universe-point battle against Great Britain’s Deep Space. A rematch of last year’s European final proved considerably closer this time, but once again Mosquitos found a way through to book their place in the final four.

Attention then turned to the Open Division. USA’s Revolver defeated Australia’s Sunder 15–5, bringing Sunder’s run to an end following their dramatic universe-point victory over Italia’s BFD la Fotta the previous day. New York’s PoNY advanced past fellow USA side Chicago Machine, while Belgium’s Mooncatchers came out on top against familiar rivals Gentle of Belgium. The final quarterfinal produced one of the moments of the day, as Great Britain’s Clapham Ultimate edged Germany’s Wall City on universe point, reversing the result of their semifinal at last year’s EUCF. Sam Hill delivered the winning assist before immediately running to the sideline to celebrate with his father, Simon Hill.

The Women’s Division closed the day with plenty of drama of its own. USA’s Fury produced a commanding performance to defeat Canada’s Seacows 15–5, but the other quarterfinals proved much tighter. USA’s Scandal came from behind after fellow team Brute Squad had led for much of the game, eventually completing the comeback 15–14. The Netherlands’ GRUT emerged from a back-and-forth battle with Canada’s 6ixers, while Japan’s TOKYO MAVERICKS ended Belgium’s impressive Mooncup run in another nail-biter to claim the final place in the semifinals.

Looking Ahead to Day 7

After six days of competition, only four teams remain in the race for each World Championship title — and every game on Friday is a semifinal.

In Women’s, the Netherlands’ GRUT faces Japan’s TOKYO MAVERICKS, while USA’s Fury and Scandal meet for the other place in the final.

In Open, USA’s Revolver takes on Great Britain’s Clapham Ultimate, while Belgium’s Mooncatchers faces USA’s PoNY.

The Mixed semifinals will see USA’s Hybrid against Austria’s Mosquitos Klosterneuburg, followed by USA’s XIST against USA’s Shame.

By the end of Friday, the six teams that will compete for the WUCC 2026 World Championship titles will be known.
