The United States won Masters gold at the WFDF 2026 World Team Disc Golf Championships (WTDGC) in Vilnius, Lithuania, after pulling clear of Estonia in the closing stages of a closely contested final.
For much of the match, there was little to separate the teams, with Estonia staying firmly in contention through the middle stages and the destination of the title still uncertain with only a few holes remaining.
The United States then began to establish an advantage across the matches, moving ahead in both Doubles and one of the Singles games and finishing strongly to take all four contests and secure the Masters world title, completing a victory that was much closer and more competitive than the eventual outcome suggested.
Bronze Medal Match
Finland claimed the bronze medal after overcoming Denmark in another tightly fought contest. Denmark remained in contention deep into the match before Finland did enough over the closing holes to secure third place.
Open Medal Matches
Attention now turns to the Open medal matches, beginning at 14:00 local time.
Norway will face Finland for gold after the two Nordic nations came through contrasting semifinals on Friday.
Norway produced an impressive performance against Great Britain, establishing control through the Singles matches before completing the victory.
Finland required considerably more drama. Their semifinal against Estonia remained level after regulation play before Finland prevailed in sudden death to secure their place in the Final.
Great Britain and Estonia will contest the bronze medal match before the Championships conclude later in the afternoon.
The Open medal matches will be shown live and free on the WFDF YouTube Channel through WFDF’s broadcast partnership with Pulsea.
