International Spirit of the Game Day
On May 10th each year, the International Spirit of the Game Day is the opportunity to celebrate, share and advocate for Spirit of the Game and within the Flying Disc Sports community and beyond through activities like reflections, discussions, workshops, events and games or any other advocacy.
International Spirit of the Game Day is a great opportunity to celebrate Spirit of the Game, and to recruit young or new players to the sport, engage with communities outside of Flying Disc sports, and to engage with brands. It’s encouraged that Member Federations, their communities and other stakeholders such as partners organise community events to celebrate Spirit of the Game.
For ideas on how stakeholders can celebrate, have a look at the iSOTGDay Planning Sheet. No matter how you end up celebrating, share SOTG through word-of-mouth, social media (#iSOTGDay, #SpiritBeyondSports and mention us via @wfdf_sotg_comm) or other traditional media channels.
For 2026, the WFDF SOTG Commission is planning to organise a livestreamed and recorded webinar discussing Spirit Beyond Sports with well-known athletes and organisers from the various disc disciplines. Specific details such as time and place will be announced on the WFDF news and social media channels later.
