WFDF Announces tentative 2022 Events Schedule

WFDF Announces major changes to the 2021 Events Schedule

All WFDF World Championship Events in 2021 are Canceled or Postponed The World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) today announced that it will not host any World Championship Flying Disc Events in 2021, effectively canceling the World Under-24 Ultimate Championships (WU24) and the World Ultimate and Guts Championships (WUGC) both planned to be held in Europe in July this summer, and postponing other planned events. The WFDF COVID-19 Working Group and the WFDF Board of Directors have been following the global development of the pandemic closely over the past year.  WFDF is primarily concerned about the health and safety of athletes, volunteers, and others involved in planning and holding events.  It has reviewed the guidance from various governmental authorities and the World Health Organization regarding the various lockdown measures, and the predicted relaxation of restrictions on public gatherings. USA’s Beau Kittredge in The World Games Greatest Athlete of All Time competition

2020 International Spirit of the Game Day: Global Virtual Scavenger Hunt Results

The global flying disc community celebrated the 7th annual International Spirit of the Game Day on the first Saturday in December, which fell this year on December 5, 2020. In a year marked by pandemic, the Spirit of the Game Day organizers have created a global and safe way to celebrate and practice Spirit of the Game: the iSOTG Day Global Virtual Scavenger Hunt. And the community responded: 605 players registered on 136 teams from across 50 countries before or on iSOTGDay. They could choose to be part of the RED or the BLUE CREW. Over a frantic 48 hours (while it was December 5th somewhere on this globe), a total of 1,769 point-scoring social media posts were submitted across the internet to score points for their crew. WFDF announces a new set of Rules of Ultimate and Appendix for 2021-2024

The World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF), following a review by the Rules Sub-Committee, has announced an updated set of the Rules of Ultimate and Championship Appendix for 2021-2024. The WFDF Board of Directors have approved these changes and the new rules come into effect on 1 January 2021. The World Flying Disc Federation (“WFDF”) is pleased to announce that it has launched today a new official website and domain name “wfdf.sport.“ The web site revamp was undertaken to upgrade the underlying site architecture, from the last overhaul in late 2011, to current standards, including native mobile accessibility. WFDF signed an agreement in 2018 to use the dot sport internet domain, which is managed by the Global Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF) for ICANN, as use of the dot sport domain shows we are a recognized member of the international sports community.
