Dr. med. Florian Beiglböck (AUT/GER)

Chair

Dr. Florian Beiglböck has been a member of the WFDF Medical and Anti-Doping Committee since 2011. He began playing Ultimate in 1988, joining Groove connection while attending university in Vienna and playing with Wall City after moving to Berlin in 1991. He has participated in around 15 European and World Championships with his clubs and the Austrian national team, from Open to Great Grand Masters divisions. After receiving his Approbation in 1998, he worked in different hospitals and specialized in internal medicine and also as an emergency doctor. He developed an interest in endocrinology and diabetes and completed his training in 2007. Since 2008, Dr. Beiglböck has been working in outpatient internal medicine/endocrinology care. As of July 2022, he is a partner at the Hormone Center Heidelberg. His areas of expertise include all thyroid diseases, as well as osteology, andrology, and diabetology, and he also works with transsexual and intersexual patients. Outside of his medical practice, he is very active in the care of obese people and has actively helped to establish the Karlsruhe Obesity Center and the Rhine-Neckar Obesity Network. He has also founded a foundation to support Frisbee sport in Karlsruhe, especially among youth. Dr. Beiglböck received his PhD at the Free University of Berlin in Dermatology (Cum laude) and also did his medical studies at the University of Vienna. He and his wife live in Karlsruhe, Germany and two of his three children are active Ultimate players.

Jamie Nuwer (USA)

Member

Jamie has served as the Medical Anti-Doping Committee Chairwoman of WFDF during 2011-2025 and as the Medical Committee Chairwoman for USA Ultimate from 2010-2014. She has been coaching Ultimate since 2003 and has coached the Stanford Women’s Ultimate Frisbee team since 2010. She coached several of the USA U20 and U24 junior national teams in 2012-2016. She has done research on college Ultimate injuries and developed the first Sports Medicine Section of the USA Ultimate Coaching Manual for Coaching. She currently works at her own private practice in Palo Alto, CA doing sports medicine and regenerative medicine. Jamie received her MD from UCLA and a BS in Biology from Stanford University.

Dominique Fontenette, MD (USA)

Member

Dr. Dominique Fontenette blends medical and athletic expertise to advance athlete health and uphold sport integrity. She serves on the World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) Anti-Doping Committee and the International World Games Association (IWGA) Medical Committee, where she co-chaired the latter in 2025 and chairs the Therapeutic Use Exemption Committee. A board-certified emergency physician with over 18 years of experience, she practices and co-owns Hospitality Health ER in Texas. She earned her MD from Tufts University School of Medicine after completing her undergraduate studies at Stanford University, where she discovered ultimate in 1993. She also completed an ultrasound fellowship at Oregon Health & Science University. An accomplished athlete, Dr. Fontenette won four U.S. National and seven WFDF World Championships. She represented the U.S. National Team six times, won the Callahan Award, and was inducted into the Ultimate Hall of Fame. She earned gold and silver medals at the World Games, helped debut the sport in 2001, and was a 2018 IWGA Athlete of the Year finalist.

Gustav Maigaard Kristiansen (DEN)

Member

Gustav has been playing Ultimate since 2018, starting his career with the university team. Since then, he has played his entire career with Aarhus Ultimate, where he also coaches and takes on various voluntary roles. He has represented Denmark on multiple national teams, competing in the open division on grass, beach, and indoors. Gustav has also contributed to organizing tournaments at both national and international levels and has volunteered in several youth development projects. Professionally, Gustav is a medical doctor. He has prior experience from the emergency department, is currently working in general practice, and he is now about to begin a position in orthopedic surgery. He has a special interest in sportsmedicine, and is about to commence the Danish Diploma Programme in Sports Medicine. He is a member of the Danish Society of Sports Medicine and the Danish Society for Young Orthopedic Doctors.
