Grant Boyd (USA)

Chair

Grant is a community builder and connector, developing youth programs, managing relationships with stake holders, and increasing opportunities for more people to witness and play disc sports. He founded California Ultimate Association in 2017 and continues to serve as its Executive Director, and is also the co-founder and current President of Southern California Youth Ultimate (SCYU). Additionally, Grant works with USA Ultimate as a Youth Strategy & Implementation Consultant. He has coached at over 75 Los Angeles school sites and 10 Park & Recreation Centers, and trained over 50 youth coaches and Physical Education teachers. Grant is an experienced and professional tournament director, having run the WFDF 2024 World Masters Ultimate Championships, the WFDF 2023 World Beach Ultimate Championships, USA Ultimate 2021 D1 & D3 College Nationals, and the popular LeiOut and Beach of Dreams tournaments. When he’s not on the ultimate field, Grant makes homemade salsa, can be found playing disc golf, or is working with a local park to install a new disc golf course in Los Angeles, CA. He received his MFA degree in Acting from Columbia University and his BFA in Theater from Adelphi University.

José Pedro Amoroso (POR)

José Pedro Amoroso is a seasoned leader with over 24 years of experience in Flying Disc sports, sport governance, and international program development. He has spearheaded initiatives promoting inclusion, ethical practices, and values-based education, including pioneering Wheelchair Ultimate and the Ultimate at Schools Programme. As Chair of WFDF’s University & School Sport / Youth and Sport Commission and former President of APUDD, he has led global curricula development, translated manuals for worldwide use, and overseen competitions and volunteer programs. José has extensive experience in strategic governance, policy advocacy, event management, and international stakeholder engagement, positioning him to guide WFDF’s growth and strengthen the global disc sports community. He holds a PhD in Physical Education & Sports and serves as a Specialist Professor at Instituto Politécnico de Leiria, with a robust publication record exploring ethics, Spirit of the Game, teamwork, and inclusion.

Becky Boulton (GBR)

Becky Boulton (she/her) is a lecturer in Evolutionary Ecology at the University of Stirling. Becky discovered Ultimate in 2011 while studying for a Master’s degree in London, despite having never played a team sport before. What began as moral support for a housemate quickly turned into a long-term passion. Since then, tshe has played across multiple continents and divisions, including representing UK club MCP as Spirit Captain at the 2022 World Masters Ultimate Club Championships (WMUCC, Limerick), and competing with women’s and mixed clubs in the UK (Swift, GUX and more), USA (Snap!, GOSE) and the Netherlands (UFO and Discover). In the UK, Becky has been involved in the development of university Ultimate, particularly in Cornwall where they helped grow the local scene and coached emerging teams. Her analytical mindset led her to join the UK Ultimate Spirit of the Game (SOTG) Committee, where she developed data-driven approaches to tracking Spirit trends and helped establish the UKU SOTG Club and University of the Year awards. Becky has since taken on international roles as Spirit Director at the 2023 World Under-24 Championships and the 2024 World Junior Championships, and are set to Spirit Direct WMUCC in 2026. As an academic who has moved between institutions (and countries/continents) throughout her career, Ultimate has been a constant source of community and support. Becky remains passionate about preserving and improving SOTG as a cornerstone of what makes Ultimate unique, welcoming, and sustainable for future generations.

Mauricio Moore (COL)

Member

Mauricio Moore is an Ultimate Frisbee athlete from Medellín, Colombia. He first discovered Ultimate while studying at high school and, quickly becoming captivated by the sport’s mix of athleticism, strategy, and Spirit of the Game. What started as a recreational pursuit evolved into a lifelong commitment to competing, coaching, and developing the sport in Latin America. Over the years, Mauricio has represented Club Deportivo Revolution, one of Colombia’s most recognized Ultimate programs, and has contributed to national and international initiatives promoting fair play, inclusion, and professional growth within the Ultimate community. His experience extends across divisions and categories, both as a player and as a mentor for younger and elite athletes. Beyond the field, Mauricio has developed a Mental Strength Program dedicated to education, leadership, and sports development. As an educator, he integrates teamwork into his teaching, helping athletes alike reach their full potential. He is also involved in projects that seek to professionalize Ultimate and connect Latin American athletes with global opportunities. For Mauricio, Ultimate is more than a sport; it is a tool for education, community building, and personal transformation.

Vanessa Rincones (VEN/MEX)

Vanessa Rincones (she/her) is the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of the no-profit organization JUF Activando Valores, a position she has held in Mexico since 2008. She has served as a Board Member of the Pan American Flying Disc Federation (PAFDF) and is also part of the University, School, and Youth Sport and Development Commissions of the World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF), the Pan American Youth Ultimate Championships Committee (PANJUCO) of the PAFDF, and the Mexican Flying Disc Federation (FEMEDIVO). She has extensive experience in project management and event organization, has directed numerous junior and college tournaments in Mexico, and has contributed to the organization of other international tournaments. Through JUF, she leads sport-for-development programs supported by Laureus Sport for Good, Nike, and Dove, and these programs bring Ultimate to schools and communities, teach life skills, and empower girls through sports. An accomplished athlete, Vanessa previously won national medals in track and table tennis in Venezuela. A pioneer in the sport, Vanessa has been playing Ultimate since 1994 and founded the first women’s teams in Venezuela and Mexico. She has competed in multiple WFDF international events, winning gold and the Spirit of the Game Award at the 2013 Pan American Ultimate Championships. As a coach, she has led Mexico’s Under 20 and Under 24 National Teams at the 2016, 2018, 2022, and 2025 World Junior Ultimate Championships. She currently leads Venezuela’s Women’s National Team, which earned the Spirit of the Game Award at the 2023 Pan American Ultimate Championships.

Ralf Simon (GER)

Ralf Simon is Deputy Director of the University Sports Center at Darmstadt Technical University. Ralf has been involved in Ultimate for more than 25 years as a player, coach, lecturer, and official. As Director of Education and Science for the German Frisbee Sports Association (DFV), he was responsible for developing coach training in the disciplines of Ultimate, disc golf, and frisbee sports. In university sports, he is the head of discipline for Ultimate and Disc Golf in the General German University Sports Association (adh). Ralf is also active as an association representative in school sports in Hessen and has been involved in the recognition of Ultimate as a high school graduation sport. Ralf has a degree in sports science and teaches sports students in the subjects of climbing, skiing, little games, kitesurfing and Frisbee.
