Brian Gisel (CAN)

Chair

Brian began his "ultimate" career as a player in Vancouver in 1992. Over the next 20 years he played at the local, national and international levels, winning Gold at Canadian Nationals in both the Mixed and Master Open division, as well as a Gold at the 1998 World Ultimate Championships with Team Canada Mixed.

Brian has served on the Board of Directors of both the Vancouver Ultimate League, spending 3 years as President, as well as the BC Disc Sport Society. In 2015 he was hired by BC Ultimate as the General Manager, a role in which he still serves today.

Internationally he has been a WFDF board member since 2009 and previously from 2002-2007, serving as the Ultimate Committee Chair from 2004-2007. He has also been Vice President for the last four years. He was tournament director of the 2008 World Ultimate and Guts Championships and the 1997 World Ultimate Club Championships.

Rueben Berg (AUS)

Chair, Ultimate Rules Subcommittee

Rueben started playing Ultimate in 2001 and has been a member of the WFDF Ultimate Rules Sub-Committee since June 2008 and Chair from April 2009 to Oct 2013 and April 2015 to the present. He got involved in the rules committee because he is quite passionate about the rules. As a self refereed sport he thinks that knowing and understanding the rules is hugely important. His experience includes participating as a Coach, then Rules expert, and then Game Advisor at the last five occurrences of “The World Games”.

Will Deaver (USA)

Vice Chair

Will has served as the Deputy Chair of the Ultimate Committee since 2012. He has been active in providing input on a wide range of important decisions relevant to the worldwide operation of WFDF’s ultimate activities, from competition and event decisions to decisions about growth, events, rules, officiating philosophy, and strategic direction. In 2018 and 2022, he supported the TOC and WFDF in the execution of the WUCC in Ohio, USA, and continues to serve as an important point of contact for WFDF on activities in the United States.

Will has been involved in the sport of ultimate for over 30 years, with playing and organizing experience at the national and international levels spanning three decades. He also brings 25 years of experience as a full-time professional sports administrator for ultimate. His experience as Managing Director of Competition and National Team Programs for USA Ultimate informs his perspective on a wide variety of committee and organizational discussions. He believes in the values that ultimate fosters and promotes through a focus on Spirit of the Game and in the potential for the sport to grow and spread those values beyond its current community. He also is committed to fostering the important relationship between the international federation and its member national federations, so that together they can work effectively to preserve the sport’s values while increasing participation and expanding its positive impact.

Shiellah Quintos (CAN)

Shiellah has served as the WFDF Ultimate Subcommittee Chair since 2017 and as the EUF Head Scorekeeper since 2019. She has worked for BULA as Volunteer Coordinator at WCBU/EBUCC/EBUC since 2015 and as a WFDF Game Advisor/Trainer starting from WUCC 2014. She has been a USAU Certified Observer Trainer since 2012 and the USAU Northeast Regional Observer Coordinator since 2011. She is also a USAU Certified Observer since 2007, USAU/UPA Club Championships Volunteer Coordinator (2003–2012), and UPA Northeast Mixed Regional Coordinator (2003–2008). She was the Executive Director of the Canadian Ultimate Players Association (2004–2006) and the Executive Director of the Association de Ultimate de Montréal (2002–2008).

Nicole Bulos (DOM)

Member

Nicole was one of the founding members of the Project Ultimate Femenino (UF!) in the Dominican Republic in 2010, which resulted in the formation of the first female ultimate teams in the country, and she became the co-founder and captain the following year of one of the first women’s Dominican teams, Fusion. After playing for various teams, she is currently on her local team Shotgun and became the President of the Dominican national association (AUDN) in 2018. She has served as a WFDF Ultimate Committee member, was a volunteer at the WFDF 2018 WUCC in Cincinnati, and was the WFDF Tournament Technical Director for the PanAmerican Ultimate Championship in Sarasota, FL in 2019. Nicole received her Clinical Psychology degree from the Univeridad Iberoamericana in Santo Domingo and her postgraduate degree in social cognitive therapy from Univeridad de Barcelona in Spain, and she is a teacher at the Carol Morgan School in Santo Domingo.

Simon (Si) Hill (GBR)

Chair, Ultimate Championships Subcommittee

Si Hill (he/him) has been elected Chair of the Championships Sub-Committee for the World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF). He has a long history with WFDF, having been a member of the Ultimate Committee and serving as Tournament Director for several WFDF World Championships.

Si has extensive experience in sports administration and business management, which has helped him bring clarity and consistency to the event structure of WFDF. His work in organizing international championships has been instrumental in the success of WFDF’s competitions.

A passionate ultimate player, Si’s first WFDF event was World Ultimate Club Championships 1995. Having attended many others in the meantime, he identifies his latest playing highlight as the 2025 World Beach Ultimate Championships (GGMO division) where his two kids will also be playing. His commitment to improving event organization continues to shape the success and growth of WFDF competitions. Si holds a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Leeds.
