To help spread the word about the guiding principle of Flying Disc sports, WFDF is releasing a series of informational posters highlighting Spirit of the Game and Spirit of the Jam.
The posters feature information on the spirit scoring system and the value of spirit circles in Ultimate and the importance of Spirit of the Jam in Freestyle. The aim of the initiative is to raise awareness about the use of SOTG as a “tool” that can help change the paradigm of sport worldwide, particularly among young people.
The project was created by Jose Amoroso, who was Chair of the WFDF Spirit of the Game Commission from 2021 to 2023.
“We believe we can contribute to a healthier sports world and consequently a better world,” said Amoroso. “It is important to spread the word about what is different about disc sports not only in our community, but abroad. Disc sports are important in the world sports landscape, where SOTG is aligned with Olympic values.”
The posters can be printed and used by Flying Disc sports clubs and associations, as well as organizations from other sports can use the same tools.

Jose also released several science articles and a doctoral thesis on Spirit of the Game, with the goal of motivating young people to study SOTG and implement it in a sports context.
