WFDF Virtual Sport World Team Disc Golf Championship Finals this Weekend

The inaugural World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) 2022 Virtual Sport World Team Disc Golf Championship (VSWTDGC), hosted by Disc Golf Valley and in Partnership with Latitude 64 and Spinoff Games, enters the final rounds this weekend, with 19 countries having qualified for the mixed pair competition.

For the Finals, National mixed-gender teams will be made up of two players representing each country, composed of the highest-ranked male and female per country in the qualifying rounds over the last four weeks. Countries represented are: Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, and the USA. Teams from four other countries – Australia, Hungary, Italy, and Norway – could have qualified but failed to register a complete pair for the finals.

“We are looking forward to the final rounds of WFDF’s first Virtual Disc Golf Championships this weekend. We were pleased to have 3,263 participants from 39 countries compete in this inaugural event,” stated WFDF President Robert “Nob” Rauch. “We look forward to an exciting weekend of play to crown our first champions!”

The finals will open at midnight on Friday night February 18th Central European Time (CET) and will close at midnight Sunday 20th CET. To crown the Virtual Sport World Team Disc Golf World Champion, the finals this weekend will combine team scores over three rounds with the lowest overall score taking first prize. All players have the same virtual flying discs available and will play the same three courses, Grizzly Gulch, Kaho Park, and Pioneer Bay. Spectators can take part by following the results of finished rounds via the UDisc Scoreboard. The Scoreboard will be live during the tournament, and the links to the scoreboard for the finals are below (official results and team cumulative scores will be calculated by WFDF and DGV officials):

Only teams that complete a score for all 6 rounds (3 courses x male and female) will be eligible for the leaderboard. Players are responsible to to log their results prior to midnight CET on Sunday the 20th of February. WFDF will announce the official results via press release on Monday the 21st of February 2022.
