Congress approval brings WFDF’s member national federations to 106 countries

The World Flying Disc Federation (“WFDF”) is proud to announce that its Congress has approved the Asociación Ecuatoriana de Disco Volador (AEDV – Ecuador) and the Fédération de Sports Urbains de Monaco (FSUM – Monaco) as its newest national Members, increasing WFDF’s membership to 106 member National Federations (NFs).

“We are very pleased with the approval by Congress of Ecuador and Monaco as WFDF member countries, bringing our number of member countries to 106 nations,” commented WFDF President Robert “Nob” Rauch. “We continue to work through our continental associations to support the organization of national federations to support the Flying Disc activity that already exists in countries that do not yet have a recognized NF.”

WFDF supports new member solicitations through its development grant program, in close cooperation with its continental associations in Africa (AAFDF), the Americas (PAFDF), Asia-Oceania (AOFDF), and Europe (EFDF).

Commented Willfran Ferrer, Board member of the Asociación Ecuatoriana de Disco Volador (AEDV), “It’s a great pleasure for us, as the representatives of the Ecuadorian frisbee community, to be accepted as members of WFDF. We have the objective and the strong focus on continuing to grow this sport in Ecuador and thus opening the national doors for organizing events and promoting the participation of our athletes internationally in the various disciplines of Flying Disc. We hope to expand the sport throughout Ecuador, infusing the values that characterize Flying Disc, such as discipline, perseverance, effort, teamwork, tolerance, and above all the spirit of the game, fundamental values in any society.”

“It is a great honour for our federation to become member of the WFDF,“ said Fédération de Sports Urbains (FUSM) Secretary General Danilo Barmaz. “Our newly establish federation is very happy to cooperate with the Flying Disc community and, even if we are a small country, we are sure that we will be able to have a great positive impact, especially in the Mediterranean area. We need to thank the Mediterranean Flying Disc Confederation (MFDC) for all their support in our preparations to join WFDF.“
