The World Flying Disc Federation (“WFDF”) is expanding its global coverage of flying disc championship events by offering live coverage from the upcoming WFDF Asia Oceanic Ultimate and Guts Championships, which run from 6-10 September in Manila, Philippines. This is the second time WFDF will provide live streams from a Continental Championship event, last doing it at the PanAm championship in 2019.

“WFDF is excited to be expanding our international coverage to selected continental/regional tournaments,” stated WFDF President Robert “Nob” Rauch. “As we look to the premier quadrennial Ultimate events of 2024 with the World Ultimate Championships in Gold Coast, Australia, and 2025 World Games in Chengdu, China, we are delighted to provide coverage of this top-tier continental competition from the Asian region.”

In partnership with Ultiworld, WFDF will be streaming games live from the showcase field during AOUGC 2023. Four matches daily will be available on Ultiworld.com for an event subscription fee of US$9.99. There will also be one match aired daily for free on the Ultiworld YouTube channel.

WFDF has engaged Upstream Sports of Manila, an experienced sports television production company with a rich history in the sport of Ultimate, to partner as production services provider. In addition, coverage will be available in the People’s Republic of China on CCTV.com’s sports platform and Tagalog-language commentary of Philippine team matches will be made available on Upstream Sports.

AOUGC 2023 will see 44 Ultimate teams and 5 Guts teams from 15 countries (with the USA participating in the Guts tournament as an invited guest country) competing in the following divisions: Open, Women’s, Mixed, Master Mixed, and Guts.

The remaining 2023 WFDF competition calendar includes the WFDF 2023 All Africa Ultimate Championships from Kisumu, Kenya in October; the WFDF World Wheelchair Championships from Lignano Sabbiadoro at the cusp of September and October; the WFDF 2023 World Beach Ultimate Championships from Huntington Beach, USA in November; and the WFDF 2023 Pan-American Ultimate Championships from Punta Cana, Dominican Republic at the end of November into December.
