Six positions are becoming available for the 2008-2009 period on the WFDF Board of Directors. Positions to be filled include: Treasurer, Individual Events Chair and 4 At Large Board Member positions. Applications for candidacy will be accepted until November 30, 2007.

Team registration deadlines are quickly approaching for the December 7-9, 2007 Asia-Oceanic Ultimate Championships. Be sure to take a look at the website of the Chinese Taipei Flying Disc Association for further details.

The bidding deadline to host the 2010 WFDF World Ultimate Club Championships has been extended from November 1, 2007 to March 31, 2008.

The Philippines Ultimate Association (PUA) and the Singapore Ultimate Players Association (SUPA) have upgraded their membership from Provisional Members to full Regular Members. Their membership applications were approved by a unanimous vote at the 2007 WFDF Congress on July 8th in Ithaca, NY.

The WFDF Board of Directors is pleased to announce the approval of the bid submitted by Michael Hu on behalf of the Chinese Taipei Flying Disc Association to host the first WFDF Asia-Oceanic Ultimate Championships. The event will be hosted in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan from December 7-9, 2007 and will be a mixed division competition. Further information will be forwarded to countries within the Asia-Oceanic region.

The deadline to submit a bid to host the 2010 World Ultimate Club Championships is November 1, 2007. Please refer to the Event Hosting page for more information. All inquiries can be directed to Anne-Marie Carey.

The South African Flying Disc Association is set to host their 2007 National Championship in Cape Town from April 27-29. South Africa also recently sent two teams to Paganello, one open and one mixed. See their website (linked above) for further information on disc sports in South Africa.

This is a reminder that motions to be considered for WFDF Congress 2007 must be submitted by April 8, 2007. These should be sent to WFDF Executive Director Anne-Marie Carey. The new WFDF Rules of Ultimate (Version 2007) is finally completed and approved! It will be effective on April 1, 2007 for all WFDF sanctioned tournaments. We would like to ask all our members to implement these rules as quickly as possible.

Bill Wright was presented with a token of appreciation for his substantial contributions to WFDF and all flying disc sports for over two decades. Bill served as WFDF President from 1994 to 2004. Prior to that, he chaired both the WFDF Freestyle Committee and the Freestyle Players Association for nine years. Even after stepping down from his formal leadership role, he continued to selflessly provide administrative assistance to WFDF through early 2006.
