Canada, Colombia, Dominican Republic, and USA win gold at WFDF 2023 Pan American Ultimate Championships

Dominican Republic’s Blue Devils UC take home gold in the Open division

Teams from four different countries earned medals at the WFDF 2023 Pan American Ultimate Championships (PAUC), with Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Canada and the United States taking home gold. PAUC, which was held in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic from November 28 to December 2, welcomed 1,836 athletes on 84 teams from 12 countries. Athletes competed in six divisions.

“It is exciting to see the growth of these Continental Championships,” stated WFDF President Robert “Nob” Rauch. “Punta Cana was a beautiful setting for an event like this, and we congratulate the Dominican Republic team for winning their first medal in international competition which is quite an accomplishment.”

In the Women’s division, Colombia swept the podium, with Revolution earning gold, Aerosoul earning silver and Bamboo taking home bronze. Spanglish (VEN) took home the top Spirit of the Game honor.

The Blue Devils UC (DOM) won first prize in the Open division, beating out Comunidad el Oso (COL) in the Finals. Flota Chancle (COL) earned bronze and AFC Rumble (CAN) earned the Spirit award.

In the Mixed division, the US Americans dominated the field with Drag’n Thrust defeating NOISE to win gold. Mischief came in third place. Saltacima UC (DOM) won the Spirit award.

North Americans had a strong showing in the masters’ divisions with an US American or Canadian team winning all three medals in each of the three divisions.

In the Master Women’s division, StellO beat our their fellow Canadians, MaQramée, to take home gold. Old Bae (USA) earned bronze and Mint (USA) won the Spirit award.

Canada also won the top prize in the Master Open division, with Still earning gold. Join, or Die and King Louie, both from the USA, took home silver and bronze respectively. All Bashed Out earned the Spirit award.

In the Mixed Master division, the SOS (USA) defeated Forever Young (CAN) to take home gold. The Drosts (USA) earned bronze and HALAL (COL) won the Spirit prize.
