The World Flying Disc Federation (“WFDF”) is pleased to announce that it has launched today a new official website and domain name ““ The web site revamp was undertaken to upgrade the underlying site architecture, from the last overhaul in late 2011, to current standards, including native mobile accessibility. WFDF signed an agreement in 2018 to use the dot sport internet domain, which is managed by the Global Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF) for ICANN, as use of the dot sport domain shows we are a recognized member of the international sports community.

The World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) is pleased to welcome two new additions to its executive staff in order to expand its ability to support the objectives of the organization. Igor Jankovíc has joined WFDF as Administrative Coordinator, reporting to Executive Director Volker Bernardi. Patrick Fourcampré-Maye now serves as Event Coordinator reporting to Karina Woldt, WFDF’s Managing Director, Events and Operations. Both positions are a new part-time paid staff position. “We are extremely pleased to bring Igor and Patrick on to WFDF’s executive team,” stated Robert “Nob” Rauch, WFDF President. “With the growth and greater professionalism of WFDF’s activities, we realized that we needed to bring in additional resources to meet the expectations of our athletes, supporters, and entire community. WFDF announces Strategic Plan for 2019-2024 The World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) is pleased to announce that its Board of Directors have approved of the Strategic Plan for the period 2019-2024, which will provide a roadmap for the International Federation for the next six years. WFDF will present its plan to its member National Federations at the Congress 2019, which will be held in conjunction with the WFDF 2019 World Team Disc Golf Championships (WTDGC) on 25 August in Alutaguse, Ida-Virumaa, Estonia. USA Takes Gold in Both Open and Women’s Divisions of WFDF Pan-American Ultimate Championships

08 December 2011 The 2011 WFDF Pan American Ultimate Championships were held in Medellín, Colombia on November 24-26, 2011. The festivities began on Wednesday evening the 23rd with a Parade of Nations, Opening Ceremonies, and showcase game featuring Colombia’s Revolution vs Fury of the USA. The City of “Eternal Spring” didn’t quite live up to its reputation weather-wise, as it had been a very rainy fall and the weather pattern did not improve. In any case, the tournament featured 12 open teams and 8 women’s teams representing 7 countries: Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Panama, USA, and Venezuela. Formats were simple for the two divisions (open and women’s), with pool play leading to quarterfinals/semifinals/finals, but the weather made scheduling a challenge. New Guts Catch Record at 124 km/h Reported

02 May 2011 A new world guts catch record was reported by Dave (Nez) Nesbitt, current PDGA Board President and former USGPA and WFDF board member, thrown by Garrett “Double G” Gurthie at 124 km/hr (77 mph). The throw and catch were made at approximately 7:15pm on April 30, 2011 at the International Disc Golf Center in Appling Georgia and recorded by a brand new Bushnell radar gun. The catch was witnessed by approximately 75 disc golfers and friends/family, and verified by Brian Graham, PDGA Executive Director and Disc Golf Hall of Famer, (Crazy) John Brooks, at the time of the catch. The setting of a new world record is subject to confirmation by WFDF Archivist and Record Keeper, Dan (Stork) Roddick. 06 October 2018 Also announces new Approved Disc Policy to go into effect in 2019 The World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) is pleased to announce that it has opened a closed tender process for establishing a multi‐year WFDF Official Disc Supplier and Sponsorship for the period from January 2019 through December 2020. It has also established a new Approved Disc Policy which will go into effect beginning in January 2019, which can be found here. This request for proposal is by invitation only and WFDF has invited the six companies that currently manufacture approved championship-level 175 gram Ultimate discs to be involved in the tender process.
