WFDF Announces 2021 Schedule of World Championships

Planning to resume global Flying Disc events starting in July 2021 Following the March 24 announcement by the World Flying Disc Federation that all Flying Disc championships in 2020 were cancelled or postponed due to the rapid spread COVID-19 virus and effect of the pandemic on international travel, WFDF has been pushing forward with negotiations, plans, and preparations for a full calendar of events for 2021. As of today, WFDF is planning to hold its World Under-24 Ultimate Championships (3-10 July, Limerick, IRL), World Ultimate and Guts Championships (24-31 July, Leeuwarden, NED), World Overall Championships (July, USA), and World Beach Ultimate Championships (November, USA). USA Claims Gold in both the Open and Women’s Divisions at the 2019 WFDF World Overall Flying Disc Championships After six days of competition in Richmond, Virginia, the 2019 WFDF World Overall Flying Disc Championships concluded with the crowning of a new champion in the Open division, and a repeat champion in the Women’s division. Only minis made entirely of plastic material are to be used. For example, wood, metal, epoxy and minis made with other materials are not approved. To be used in competition, all mini discs must be 4.5 inches (11.43 cm) or less in diameter. Mini competition uses all WFDF approved rules except for these variations in the disc size. Mini disc golf uses the approved disc golf rules except for a few necessary variations in play and targets, which are listed at the Mini Disc Golf Federation (MDGF) site: http://minidiscgolf.com.

  [lead]WFDF 2017 World Overall Championships (WOC) to be held in Basingstoke, Great Britain[/lead] The World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) is pleased to announce that the WFDF 2017 World Overall Flying Disc Championships (WOC 2017) will be staged from Monday 24th – Saturday 29th July 2017 in the city of Basingstoke at the Down Grange Sports Complex in Great Britain. “The successful bid came from the Basingstoke Disc Golf Club (BDGC) which was selected from four very strong bids coming from the European, North American and Asian regions, and was viewed favorably on the overall experience it offered to participants and its proximity to central Europe which meant it would attract many specialty disc golf and freestyler players from the Continent,” stated WFDF President Robert “Nob” Rauch.
